Diplomacy
Diplomatic Status
Your nation's relationship with each other nation is represented by a status. Change status by submitting a DIPLOMACY order — it takes effect next turn.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Neutral | Default state. No restrictions, no bonuses. |
| Friendly | Armies don't automatically engage in shared sectors. |
| Alliance | Shared map visibility; resource trading bonuses; Diplomat gets VP. |
| War | Attack orders are pre-authorised; armies engage on contact. |
| Tribute | You pay a tribute of resources each turn; avoids active warfare. |
Diplomatic status is unilateral — you set your stance toward another nation.
Their stance toward you may differ. Both nations must set Alliance for full alliance benefits.
Messaging
Use the Inbox page to send messages to other nations. Messages are delivered at the start of the next turn. NPC nations do not respond to messages.
The inbox also receives World News broadcasts — automated reports from the game engine each turn summarising what happened (battles fought, events, turn results).
Diplomacy Tips
- Early alliances with neighbours prevent two-front wars
- Declaring War before attacking prevents surprise — it takes one turn to take effect
- A Tribute offer can buy time when militarily weaker
- Diplomats gain VP for maintaining alliances and ending wars by treaty
