Player Classes

Choose your class when joining a world. Each class gives you stat bonuses, access to unique units, and a distinct victory condition. Multiple players may share the same class — two Traders in one game creates interesting rivalry.

Your class cannot be changed after joining a world. Choose carefully.

Empire Builder

Expansion

Bonuses: +25% construction speed, +20% city population cap, cheaper fortifications

Unique Units: Engineers (build 2× faster), Colonists (found cities in unclaimed land)

Victory: Points for territory owned, cities built, and total population

Warlord

Military

Bonuses: +15% combat damage dealt, −15% damage received, +25% recruitment rate

Unique Units: Elite Guard (never deserts), Siege Masters (reduce fortifications fast)

Victory: Points for battles won, nations eliminated, territory taken by force

Trader

Commerce

Bonuses: +30% caravan efficiency, trade goods worth 2× to other nations, +1 caravan movement

Unique Units: Merchant Guild (super-caravan, 3× goods), Smuggler (moves through hostile sectors)

Victory: Points for total wealth, active trade routes, unique goods delivered

Theocrat

Magic

Bonuses: +40% magic power regeneration, shrines produce double power, all units +10 morale

Unique Units: Holy Warriors (morale never drops below 50), High Priest (powerful spellcaster)

Victory: Points for shrines controlled, spells cast, nations converted to alliance

Diplomat

Diplomacy

Bonuses: Diplomatic offers more likely to succeed, alliance resource bonus, spies 2× effective

Unique Units: Ambassador (negotiate even at war), Spymaster (intel on other nations)

Victory: Points for alliances maintained, turns at peace with 3+ nations, wars ended by treaty

Artifact Hunter

Artifacts

Bonuses: Double benefit from all artifacts, finds artifacts in unexplored sectors, artifact aura protects armies

Unique Units: Treasure Hunter (scout + artifact finder), Relic Guardian (artifact protection)

Victory: Points per artifact held (weighted by rarity), bonus for complete set

Pathfinder

Exploration

Bonuses: +2 scout range, no movement penalty in mountains/forest, auto-shares maps with allies

Unique Units: Ranger (any terrain, ignores zone-of-control), Cartographer (reveals adjacent sectors each turn)

Victory: Points for map revealed %, rare terrain discovered, distant outposts founded

Monster Lord

Terror

Bonuses: Monster units at half cost, enemies −20 morale vs. monsters, pillage yields 2×

Unique Units: Beast Tamer (commands monster armies), Necromancer (raises fallen soldiers as undead)

Victory: Points for monster armies commanded, devastation caused, fear rating across all nations
